As the CEO of a leading corporate services firm headquartered in Riyadh, Ahmed leads a team of professionals dedicated to providing unparalleled support to emerging entrepreneurs and established companies entering the Saudi market. His extensive local knowledge and expertise enable the delivery of comprehensive licensing assistance across regulatory authorities such as the Capital Market Authority (CMA) and the Ministry of Investment (MISA). Previously, as the Head of Asset Management at SICO Capital (formerly known as "Muscat Capital"), Ahmed led and directed the company's Asset Management division in Saudi Arabia. His responsibilities spanned Real Estate Management, Public Equity, Advisory business, and Mutual Funds launch and management. Serving as the primary point of contact for client origination and relationship management, Ahmed oversaw teams responsible for both Fiduciary and Non-Fiduciary business across institutional, high-net-worth, and family office clients. He played a pivotal role in the C-level group overseeing the company's overall Investment Banking Business in the Kingdom and held board membership for all funds, chairing the Investment Committee and overseeing Business and Product Development.
During his tenure as the Acting CEO of Muscat Capital, Ahmed demonstrated exemplary leadership during a critical transitional period. Leading and overseeing all functional business lines and teams, including Brokerage, Investment Banking & Advisory, and Asset Management, he facilitated a successful company transition amid strategic reorganization. Ahmed's commitment to personalized leadership ensured that his contributions to the organization were impactful and aligned with its overall strategic goals.
As the Head of Compliance & Governance at Muscat Capital, Ahmed played a strategic role in establishing the firm's regulatory licenses, policies, procedures, and governance framework. He ensured adherence to all regulatory requirements in Saudi Arabia while implementing best practices in corporate governance. Ahmed spearheaded the firm's efforts in new product development and management, collaborating closely with the Group Risk Management Department. His instrumental contributions positioned him as a key senior management team member.
In his role as the Head of Compliance for SHUAA Capital Psc, a leading investment bank in Dubai, Ahmed managed the entire Compliance and Governance framework across the organization, including its Head Office and subsidiaries in the DIFC. His strong track record and pioneering approach to investing ensured that the asset management and investment banking segments of the firm adhered to regulatory requirements while providing clients with exceptional investment solutions. Ahmed's expertise contributed significantly to the firm's robust compliance and governance framework, allowing it to excel in offering alternative investment strategies and corporate finance advisory services in the regional financial landscape.
Ahmed's experience also includes serving as the CFO of Classic Fine Foods, a subsidiary of Vestey Holdings. In this role, he played a pivotal role in establishing and driving the group's UAE operations and food brand. Ahmed's financial management expertise, HR & Admin acumen, and governance leadership helped implement the group's vision within the Dubai subsidiary, aligning it with the entrepreneurial and pioneering spirit of Vestey Holdings.
As the Head of Compliance & Finance at Rasmala Investment Bank, Ahmed played a crucial role in the organization's success. He established and implemented the financial management and reporting framework, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory standards. Additionally, he served as the Head of Compliance for Rasmala UK, where he was authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority (UK) to act as the firm's registered Compliance Officer.
During his earlier career, Ahmed served as the Head of Finance for two subsidiaries of John Keells Holdings, one of Sri Lanka's oldest and most prominent diversified firms. In this role, he played a vital part in the organization's financial management and operational control. Leading a team of dedicated finance professionals, Ahmed ensured the highest level of financial discipline, efficiency, and growth. As a key member of the John Keells family, he contributed to the company's ongoing success by fostering an ecosystem of partners and suppliers. Through his emphasis on innovation, sustainability practices, and technology, Ahmed helped to upskill the ecosystem and optimize the delivery of locally developed and branded products and services. Before his tenure at John Keells Holdings, Ahmed played various roles within a well-established 45-year-old family business in Sri Lanka. During this time, he took on multiple responsibilities across finance, management, and operations, effectively demonstrating his diverse skill set and adaptability. He contributed significantly to the company's growth and stability by implementing efficient processes, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Ahmed's educational background includes a Masters in Chartered Management Accountancy from CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) in the United Kingdom. He has also obtained professional certifications from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Certified Management Accountants, and Islamic Finance Certificate, among others.
